The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has urged the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State to release members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) detained ahead of the June 20 governorship election in the state.
Speaking during the PDP mega rally held over the weekend in Ado-Ekiti, Natasha described politics driven by intimidation and bitterness as unhealthy for democracy, insisting that political parties and candidates should instead compete based on the strength of their manifesto and ideas.
In his remarks, the governorship candidate of the party,Wole Oluyede alleged that the incumbent governor was relying heavily on influence of government at the center to secure re-election rather than issue based campaign
He urged President Bola Tinubu to allow the people of Ekiti State to freely choose their next governor.
