A Coalition of Civil Society Organizations has again appealed to President Muhammadu buhari to sign into law, the electoral act amendment bill in the interest of Nigerians, particularly the thirty one million people living with disabilities.
The coalition which made the appeal during a news conference on Monday in Abuja explained that the presidential assent will also clear the uncertainties surrounding the 2023 General Elections.
The Group also believes that the opportunity to test the new legislation and functionality of the innovations will be lost if the amendment process is not concluded
within a reasonable timeframe.
The coalition of CSOs urged interest groups, especially the media and development partners to sustain the pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari to safeguard the Electoral Bill from policy capture, manipulation, and subversion of the people’s will.
