The Economic Community of West African States Court of Justice has launched an Electronic Case Management System to enhance judicial efficiency and improve access to justice across West Africa.
Speaking at the unveiling in Abuja, President of the Court, Justice Ricardo Goncalves, said the digital platform will simplify court processes, reduce delays, and make case management more accessible for legal practitioners and litigants across member states.
The multilingual system allows for electronic filing, digital documentation, case tracking, and secure communication, eliminating many of the challenges associated with manual procedure.
Court officials say the innovation is expected to strengthen transparency, accountability, and confidence in the region’s justice system while promoting faster resolution of cases.
The Court aims to register at least 80 percent of legal practitioners on the platform within six months, with a long-term goal of becoming a fully digital judicial institution by 2030.
