Wife of the Imo State Governor, Chioma Uzodimma has called on community, religious, and traditional leaders to break the silence surrounding Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
The Governor’s wife was speaking at a two-day community advocacy meeting organized for wives of Local Government Chairmen, religious leaders and traditional rulers at Owerri, the Imo State capital.
She emphasized that the fight against gender-based violence requires collective responsibility and courageous leadership, rather than confrontation.
Participants at the meeting pledged to take their roles seriously and serve as advocates in their communities, raise awareness and promote attitudes that reject Sexual and Gender-based violence.
