The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is strengthening its legal and institutional framework to ensure greater accountability, transparency and compliance in an increasingly digital environment.

At a capacity-building programme for legal officers of the Corp, the Scheme emphasized the need for continuous legal education, improved handling of litigation, and effective management of digital information to enhance public confidence.

In recent years, the the National Youth Service Corps has continued to evolve in response to emerging legal and technological realities, the need for a resilient institution built on sound legal principles and digital compliance has become increasingly important.

The capacity-building programme aimed at equipping its legal officers with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the complexities associated with its operations, and attaining professional best practices.

Officials said these realities make it imperative for legal officers to remain updated through continuous legal education, enabling them to provide timely, accurate and professional guidance to management at both the national and state levels. The training also focused on charting the institution on the right legal path.

As legal and digital landscapes continue to evolve, stakeholders say building a knowledgeable and responsive legal workforce is essential to ensuring that the National Youth Service Corps continues to deliver on its mandate while upholding the principles of accountability, transparency and the rule of law.
