Police have arrested one Dauda Ayuba of Senchi village Kaffin-Koro area, Paikoro LGA of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria for conveying six female children suspected to be victims of trafficking in a vehicle.
Police operatives attached to Madalla Division were said to have made the interception while on patrol along Madalla-Suleja road.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, said that during interrogation, Dauda confessed that he travelled from Benin, Edo State, to Niger State, having agreed with a woman known as Iyee and two others of Ogbu market, presently at large, who deal in child trafficking, to source six female children for them.

Investigation further revealed that the suspect received the sum of N194,000 for transportation and other logistics to transport the girls to Benin, where they were to be distributed as housemaids, salesgirls, and engaged in other child labour activities for financial gain.
According to the statement, the suspect further stated that he selected the children from Senchi village, deceiving their parents by claiming that he was going to enrol them in school.
The suspect also revealed that he agreed to be paid a sum of N30,000 monthly for each of the victims, of which N20,000 will serve as their monthly salary, while he receives N10,000 as commission.
