Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has dismissed reports suggesting that he resigned from office, describing the information as false and expressing shock over its origin.
General Musa spoke to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,
The Minister said he had never discussed resigning from his position, attributing the rumour to individuals unhappy with the progress being recorded in the country’s security efforts.
“I’m not going anywhere. I have never discussed it. I don’t even know who the person who brought that information is. But whoever it is will face legal action.”
General Musa said he had just briefed President Tinubu on the current security situation in the country, adding that the President was pleased with the progress being made by the security agencies.
He thanked Nigerians for their continued support and called for a whole-of-society approach in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
The Defence Minister said the cooperation of citizens has contributed to the improvements being witnessed in the security landscape, assuring that efforts would continue towards defeating terrorists and criminal elements across the country.
