Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally declared his support for the Nyesom Wike-led ‘Rainbow Coalition’, urging his supporters across the state to embrace the political movement.
The governor also threw his weight behind the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governorship aspiration of Kingsley Chinda of the All Progressives Congress.
The governor made the declaration at the foundation-laying ceremony of the Riven Medical Industry Project in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area on Wednesday.

Governor Fubara also used the occasion to formally declare his support for the Nyesom Wike-led ‘Rainbow Coalition’ in Rivers State and called on his supporters, wherever they may be, to identify with the coalition and give it their full support.

He also urged them to work for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying continued support for the President would help sustain the country’s development agenda.
His declaration is expected to further reshape the political landscape in the state as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Riven Medical Industries Project in Rumuosi, Port Harcourt, for which Governor Fubara laid the foundation stone, is a Public-Private Partnership between the Rivers State Government and Enbay Pharmaceutical Industries Limited. It is designed to revive and redevelop the former Integrated Medical Industries into a modern pharmaceutical manufacturing complex.
The facility is expected to become a world-class centre for the production of pharmaceutical formulations, gelatin capsules, intravenous infusions, and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Beyond healthcare, the project is expected to stimulate industrial growth by creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs, encouraging technology transfer, attracting local and foreign investment, and driving economicc diversification in Rivers State.
Governor Fubara described the project as a strategic investment in the future of the state, saying it demonstrates his administration’s commitment to sustainable industrial development, quality healthcare, and partnerships that deliver lasting benefits for the people.
When completed, the Riven Medical Industries Project is expected to position Rivers State as a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing and healthcare investment destination in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
