Delta state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has rewarded Great Chinedu with twenty million naira for emerging winner of the world spelling bee championship held in China.
The governor announced the cash reward on Friday shortly after receiving the trophy from the student and officials of the ministry of secondary education at government house in Asaba.
Oborevwori describe the victory as an affirmation of the state’s deliberate investment in education.

He also noted that Delta had consistently distinguished itself in international academic competitions, recalling that the state won last year’s championship in Doha, Qatar.
