Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike says the people of Rivers State in South-South Nigeria cannot afford to trade the presidential candidature of Bola Tinubu for a vice presidential seat.
Wike who was making reference to the former River State Governor and past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who is the Vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, stated this while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
He said President Tinubu has embraced the people of Rivers State through infrastructure development and appointments more than any president since May 2019.
He said the people of the state are strongly in support of President Tinubu’s second term bid due to his performance in areas of infrastructure development and appointments of Rivers State sons and daughters in various positions of authorities. Wike says such efforts cannot be traded off for a vice presidential seat.
Wike also said that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has returned back to his political family and is ready to support President Tinubu’s candidacy and that of members of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

It Is the first media briefing of the FCT Minister in Rivers State, since the political crisis that rocked the state finally came to an end.
Wike said the political crisis that engulfed the state for about two years has been resolved, with Governor Fubara showing his commitment to work with the political structure that brought him to power.
The FCT Minister said though the crisis set the state
backward, he expressed optimism that the next few months will surely witness more social economic developments.
Wike appealed to Rivers State people to remain calm, support President Tinubu administration and Governor Fubara.
