Governor Monday Okpebholo says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms have strengthened state finances, enabling his administration to deliver key infrastructure and security projects across Edo State, South-South Nigeria.

Speaking at the “Shine Beyond Borders” diaspora engagement in London, Governor Okpebholo said increased federal allocations have reduced states’ dependence on bailouts. He urged Edo State indigenes abroad to invest in the state, contribute their expertise and support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, including the drive to deliver 2.5 million votes from the state in the 2027 general election.

Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and other stakeholders present at the UK diaspora engagement called for stronger collaboration between the government and the Edo State diaspora to accelerate development and attract more investment to the state.

Governor Okpebholo later presented branded souvenirs bearing President Bola Tinubu’s image to members of the Edo State diaspora. The meeting also explored opportunities for investment, knowledge transfer and strategic partnerships to drive sustainable growth in Edo State.
