Nigeria’s Ambassador to the State of Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to the President of Israel, His Excellency Isaac Herzog.
The ceremony marks the official commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s diplomatic mission in Israel.
Speaking shortly after the presentation, Ambassador Ufochukwu conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the people of Nigeria to the Government and people of Israel.
She reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the long-standing friendship between both nations.
The Ambassador outlined key areas of priority during her tenure to include trade and investment, agriculture and food security, technology and innovation, defense and security cooperation, healthcare, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
President Herzog, while welcoming the Nigerian envoy, expressed Israel’s readiness to work closely with Nigeria to advance shared interests, particularly in innovation, and counter-terrorism.
Diplomatic observers note that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s deployment comes at a time when both countries are seeking to broaden economic partnerships and leverage opportunities in the tech and agricultural sectors.
Her appointment is widely regarded as a renewed push to elevate Nigeria-Israel relations and unlock new avenues for collaboration between Africa’s largest economy and the Middle East’s leading innovation hub.
