Three more suspects linked to the abduction of the Dean of Agriculture at the Nasarawa State University, Professor Samuel Avengbe Okunsebor, have been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
The three are suspected to be members of the kidnapping ring that abducted the university professor in the early hours of Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Mile Uku, a border community between Lafia and Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.
Professor Okunsebor was rescued by DSS operatives two days after he was abducted by gunmen.
Two suspects, including a woman, were arrested by the DSS during the operation that led to his rescue.
A security source says DSS operatives arrested three other suspected members of the kidnapping gang on Friday night at a local brothel in the Mararaban Akunza area along the Lafia–Makurdi highway.

The source identifies the suspects as 25-year-old Yakubu Abubakar, also known as Black or Starboy; 37-year-old Usman Abubakar Mairiga; and 27-year-old Sale Babauro Abubakar.
The security source says the three suspects are currently in the custody of the DSS Nasarawa State Command for further investigation.
The source adds that their continued detention follows a valid detention warrant obtained from a magistrate court.
The latest arrests bring to five the number of suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Professor Okunsebor.
