Anambra State-born businessman and CEO of Jezco Group of Companies, Joseph Ezeokafor, who was kidnapped some 10 days ago was released early Saturday morning by his kidnappers.
The victim was kidnapped by gunmen on August 4 at Ifite-Awka on his way to a prayer mission.
A statement by the Police in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria says the businessman safely returned home alongside a Reverend Sister whose identity is yet to be disclosed.
The Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, says the detectives are taking necessary steps to establish the circumstances surrounding their release and obtain relevant information that will assist ongoing investigations and identification of the perpetrators.

The statement added that the new Police boss in the State, CP Nanna Oji Ama has directed intensified intelligence-led operations and manhunt for those responsible for the abduction, while commending the safe return of the victim.
