The Ondo State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, says the corps is on the trail of suspected gunmen who ambushed and killed two of his officers in Akure North Local Government Area of the state last week.
Adeleye stated this while parading ten suspected criminals at the command’s headquarters in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to the Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, the incident that led to the death of the two officers was an unprovoked attack.
Adeleye said the officers had finished their duty for the day and were returning to Akure when the suspected gunmen launched the attack.
The commander assured that the corps would apprehend those behind the killing, as security operatives intensified efforts to track down the attackers.
The command also rescued a woman who was abducted alongside her two children in Osi, Akure North Local Government Area.
The Amotekun Corps, however, assured residents that it will continue to work with other security agencies to protect lives and property across Ondo State.
