Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has commended the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for commencing the reconstruction of failed portions of the Benin-Sapele Expressway.
Oborevwori gave the commendation on Friday at the flag-off of the reconstruction of a road project at Roundabout in Sapele.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Works, (Rural Roads), Charles Aniagwu, says the intervention underscored the importance of collaboration among governments and agencies in tackling infrastructure challenges across the Niger Delta region.
Also speaking at the event, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku and the Board Chairman, Chiedu Ebie, assured commuters that the road reconstruction project would not be delayed.
When completed, the 15.4-kilometre failed portion of Benin-Sapele Expressway will no doubt bring relief to the road users.
