Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued six kidnapped victims in Kebbi State following an intelligence report on suspected terrorist activities along the Wasagu-Ayu Road in Wasagu Local Government Area.
The operation was conducted on September 2, 2026, at Mehinua village.
In a statement, the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Aliyu Danja, said the troops swiftly mobilised to the area after receiving credible intelligence.
According to the statement, the troops made contact with the terrorists and engaged them with a high volume of fire.
The sustained military pressure forced the terrorists to flee, abandoning their victims.
The troops subsequently rescued all six kidnapped persons unharmed and handed them over to the relevant community authorities.
The Theatre Command says the successful operation demonstrates the commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to protecting the lives and property of law-abiding citizens across the Joint Operations Area.
It also reaffirmed the military’s resolve to sustain intelligence-led operations aimed at degrading terrorist activities and rescuing victims of abduction.
