Six suspects have been arrested for alleged possession and production of fake Euro currency by the Police in Oyo State.
During a search on September 1, around 7:30pm, police on patrol in the Labo–Wesley area of Ibadan stopped three men on a motorcycle. Consequently, officers recovered 89 pieces of suspected fake €100 notes worth €8,900.

The men arrested at the scene are Tijani Saheed, 50, Oni Oladapo, 67, Adebayo Saheed, 52, and motorcycle rider Hammed Karemu, 25.
The suspects confessed and led police to where the money was allegedly bought. A search of that location led to more exhibits used to produce the fake notes and the arrest of the alleged producer. Two other suspects were also picked up, bringing the total to six.

All suspects are in custody and cooperating with police. They will be charged to court after investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, praised the officers for their work and reassured residents that the Command will continue to fight economic crimes.
