Delta State Government has announced fresh measures to cushion the effects of economic hardship on residents in the state.
The state commissioner for Public Information, Charles Aniagwu disclosed this while addressing journalists in Asaba.
According to Aniagwu, the government intends to achieve this by boosting purchasing power of residents through infrastructure development, worker’s welfare, empowerment programmes and strategic investments.
The commissioner explained that the initiative is not aimed at indiscriminate distribution of funds, but a deliberate intervention to stimulate economic activity.
He urged residents to support the administration’s policy to ensure that Delta state grows and its people experience corresponding improvements in their purchasing power and standard of living.
