Divisions within Okun Land and its communities and how to bridge the gap to engender unity and birth development took the front burner at a dialogue in Abuja.
The Okun Unity Dialogue, organised by the Okun Development Initiative, brought together community leaders, professionals, youths, and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the development and future of Okun land.
At the heart of the discussion was the need to overcome division and build a common agenda capable of driving sustainable development in the communities making up okun land.
Prince Olatunji Olusoji, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grosvenor group says a united Okun people will be better positioned to address security challenges and attract meaningful interventions in infrastructure, education and other critical sectors.
Security experts called for stronger collaboration among traditional institutions, community leaders, and residents advocating improved intelligence gathering and sharing and community-based security mechanisms.
With awards of honor given to participants, The people expressed optimism that sustained dialogue and collective actions would help surmount challenges, build a more secure, united and prosperous Okun land, while urging all sons and daughters to make unity a foundation for development.
