The alleged remarks attributed to the Chairman of Kuje area Council that residents who do not support the APC should leave the Area Council, is still generating reactions from a cross section of Nigerians and groups.

This time, a group under the aegis “the Concerned Citizens of Kuje Area Council” say such statement is unacceptable from a public officer whose constitutional responsibility is to serve and protect all residents irrespective of their political affiliation.

Kuje Area Council has a long history of peaceful coexistence, the Gbari, Gbagyi, and Gade, together with other tribes and communities, have lived, intermarried, traded and built their future together for centuries.

For these reasons, the concerned citizens say they will not allow political differences to destroy this precious heritage.

They are particularly concerned about inflammatory statements by political leaders, especially when there are threat of violence.

They noted that Kuje is a Council of unity, consultation, and understanding that have existed among their people before the present political disagreements.
