Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed a terrorist and recovered four motorcycles and other items during a dawn offensive operation in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State, North-West Nigeria.
The operation was conducted on September 4, 2026, following credible intelligence on the presence of terrorists around Yantumaki Forest.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of the North-West Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Aliyu Danja, the troops launched a coordinated offensive against the terrorists and engaged them with superior firepower.
The statement says the terrorists were forced to flee into the surrounding bushes.

During an exploitation of the area, the troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers.
The containers are suspected to have been used in treating wounded terrorists.
The Theatre Command of Operation Fansan Yamma says sustained military pressure on terrorist networks will continue to degrade their operational capabilities and deny them freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the military to disrupt terrorist activities and restore security across communities in the North-West.
