The Allied Peoples Movement, APM has officially commenced its campaign for the 2027 presidential election, with its presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, commissioning the party’s national campaign office in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The APM says the campaign office, known as Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Office will serve as the national coordinating centre for the party’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.
In a statement issued by the Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the APM says the campaign would be anchored on issues, practical solutions and policies aimed at addressing the challenges confronting Nigerians.
The party says the campaign is also a platform to present what it describes as a credible alternative to the ruling APC government.
According to the party, the emergence of Makinde and his running mate, Lawan Daura, as its presidential and vice-presidential candidates has triggered increased interest in the party, which it attributes to public confidence in the duo’s integrity and record of public service.
The party disclosed that Makinde had, ahead of the campaign, embarked on consultations with political leaders, stakeholders and communities across the country to understand their concerns and aspirations as the consultations would form part of the foundation for a comprehensive national agenda addressing Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.
APM said it would unveil its detailed policy blueprint in due course, promising that the document would contain practical and measurable solutions to the country’s economic, security and governance challenges.
