Less than 48 hours after the media aide of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, revealed that the opposition Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has no governorship candidate in 12 states ahead of the 2027 elections, the party has debunked the claim, describing the statement as “false, malicious, and a lie from the pit of hell.”
The National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director while reacting to the statement by WIKE’s Spokeperson who appeared on AIT’s democracy today, said it has duly nominated candidates in all 28 states where governorship elections will hold in 2027.
Director explained that the NDC published names of its governorship candidates in the 12 states including Zamfara, Borno, Cross river, Ebonyi, Yobe, and Niger states.
The party insisted it is fully prepared, fully structured, and fully on ground in every state of the federation, saying that the party is not a regional party but a national movement with candidates, structures, and supporters in all 36 states and the FCT.
The National Spokeperson noted that the NDC remains committed to issue-based politics and will not be distracted as Nigerians are tired of “recycled failures.
