Four teams have qualified for the season-ending NBBF Final 8 playoffs in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
They are Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt, Maktown Fliers of Makurdi, Gboko City Chiefs, and Aso Sky Hawks.
Hoopers finished at the top of the Final 8 standings, despite a 74-67 loss to Aso Sky Hawks on the final day of competition.
Following seven days of intense play at the NBBF Final 8 playoffs in Port Harcourt, the four participating teams for the Final 4 have emerged.
Host Rivers Hoopers topped the round-robin table, highlighted by a victory over defending champions Maktown Fliers on match day 6, before Aso Sky Hawks, denied them a clean slate on matchday seven.
While Hoopers head coach Ogochukwu Odaudu would have preferred a clean sweep heading into the final phase, Aso Sky Hawks’ Godwin Raymond celebrated the upset victory as a successfully accomplished mission to reach the Super Four.
Abel Offia, guard for Rivers Hoopers, expressed confidence that the team will regroup and deliver a strong performance in the upcoming Final 4 playoffs, which will also take place in Port Harcourt.
