As local government administrations in Rivers State mark one year in office, the Mayor of Portharcourt City Local Government Alwell Ihunda has commenced a 5-day inauguration of projects executed by his administration.
The first is the
renovated primary school in Elekahia, which now has new facilities such as a sick bay, library, computer laboratory, and conducive classrooms for learning.
The commissioning of the renovated Iche Akarolo Model Primary School Elekahia is part of activities lined up to commemorate the first year of sir Alwell Ihunda’s Second term in office as Mayor of Portharcourt
The event attracted stakeholders, political leaders, and residents of Portharcourt city who came to identify with the giant strides of the Alwell Ihunda led administration.
The mayor, while speaking at the event, emphasized that access to quality education is one the priorities of his administration.
Leader of the rainbow coalition in portharcourt City and former federal lawmaker Ken Chikere and the school principal thanked the mayor for the intervention while calling on relevant authorities to protect the facility against vandalism.
Some of the dignitaries at the event include the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State Sam-Soni Ejekwu, Member representing Phalga state constituency 3 Azeru Opara, former federal lawmaker Igo Aguma Amongst others.
