Twelve suspects are now in the custody of the Police in Anambra State, explaining their roles in the recent cult-related attacks at two local communities of Awka, the State capital.
The violent bloody attacks claimed at least two lives, just ten days ago.
In a media briefing Wednesday, the State Police Command said preliminary investigation showed that one Miss Jennifer Nwosu, a niece to the popular Comedian and Master of Ceremony, Aziah Nwosu, who is one of the victims of the attacks, was linked to communications in the night of the incident with Kenechukwu Nwosu, her nephew and the principal suspect in the crime.
A Police tracking led to her arrest and later released to aid in apprehending the principal suspect who is still at large.
Anambra Police Command Public Relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, dismissed narratives by the Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) that Miss Jennifer Nwosu was released after allegedly paying six hundred thousand Naira
SP Ikenga stated that the Command as part of investigations are examining individuals and circumstances that may assist in identifying the perpetrators and locating the principal suspect who remains at large.
