The body of the late elder statesman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur has arrived his residence in Yola, Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria, ahead of burial on Sunday.
It was flown via a chartered jet from Abuja and arrived in Yola, Saturday night.
Sympathisers have thronged his residence in Kashim Ibrahim Street to commiserate with his family members.
Friends and family members of the late one-time Governor of defunct Gongola state, and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, have extolled his qualities, describing him as a statesman whose contribution to the development of Nigeria cannot be quantified.
Some of them who spoke to AIT.live at his Wuse II residence in Abuja recalled his achievements saying he lived his life for his country.
The late Dr. Tukur will be buried on Sunday at Lamido Sanda Street in Yola after the funeral prayer by 10am at the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa.
