Families of deceased police officers in Nasarawa State have received Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident cheques totalling ₦30,845,424.03.
The cheques were presented to the beneficiaries at the Nasarawa State Police Command Headquarters in Lafia by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the gesture was aimed at providing financial relief and support to the families of police officers who lost their lives in the course of service to the nation.

Presenting the cheques, Mohammed commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, NPM, for the initiative and his continued commitment to the welfare and well-being of police officers and their families.
The Commissioner said the payment demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to supporting the families of officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
Mohammed urged the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously and, where possible, invest in profitable and sustainable ventures that could provide a steady source of income and improve their standard of living.
He further advised them to manage the funds responsibly, noting that the financial support would help strengthen the economic well-being of their families and secure a better future for their children.
