Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York to lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 81st United Nations General Assembly, where he said Nigeria’s engagements will be guided by national interest, multilateralism, and President Tinubu’s push for reform of global institutions.
Speaking on arrival, Senator Shettima said: “Our message in New York is clear.
Nigeria believes in multilateralism, but the institutions that govern our world must become more representative, equitable and responsive to the realities of today.”
He arrived in company of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State; Minister of State for Budget, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite and other senior government officials.
During the General Debate, Vice President Shettima will deliver Nigeria’s national statement, and is expected to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on reform of the international financial architecture, climate finance, and stronger representation for Africa in global decision-making.
