Four thousand newly recruited civil servants in Akwa Ibom State are to resume duty on October 2, 2026, following Governor Umo Eno’s approval for the immediate release of their appointment letters.
The governor gave the directive on Friday at Government House, Uyo, while receiving the recruitment report from the State Civil Service Commission.
The recruitment exercise into the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service attracted a large number of applicants and involved a Computer-Based test and oral interviews.
Governor Umo Eno directed the immediate release of appointment letters to the four thousand successful candidates to enable them to commence work as scheduled.
The governor said the recruitment is part of efforts to strengthen the State Civil Service with fresh manpower across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of government.
The Civil Service Commission is expected to provide further details on the deployment and posting of the newly recruited civil servants.
