Former Kaduna South Senator, Danjuma La’ah, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Kaduna State for the 2027 election.
La’ah emerged from a substitution primary conducted by the party in Kaduna.
The contest for the NDC governorship ticket in Kaduna State has produced Danjuma Laah as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
Four aspirants took part in the substitution primary, held after party stakeholders reportedly failed to reach a consensus on a candidate.
La’ah polled 6,990 votes to emerge ahead of Ibrahim Abdulkarim, who scored 530 votes. Mohammed Sani Abbas came third with 402 votes, while Zariyi-Yusuf Madaki received 194 votes.
The result was announced by the returning officer, Dr Danlami Rukujet.
Following his emergence, Danjuma La’ah thanked party members and supporters, saying the focus would now shift towards preparing for the 2027 election.
The Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Modecai Ibrahim, said the party would base its campaign on issues and policies.
With the conclusion of the substitution primary, the NDC joins the growing list of parties that have produced governorship candidates in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 election.
