Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has described Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifier as a performance that was neither good nor bad, despite expressing satisfaction with the overall display.
Nigeria opened its Group L campaign with a hard-fought victory over Madagascar, securing three points in a match where the Super Eagles created several opportunities but were unable to convert a number of their chances.
Speaking at the post-match media conference, Chelle acknowledged that there were areas of the team’s performance that needed improvement, particularly in front of goal.
The Malian tactician, however, praised the dedication and commitment of his players, noting their willingness to work for the result throughout the encounter.
Chelle also highlighted the importance of injured Super Eagles captain, Victor Osimhen being present with the team, describing his presence as another indication of the commitment within the squad.
