The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, has declared the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of Saturday’s Local Government Council Election in all 17 Local Government Areas of the State.
The results were declared on Sunday by the Chairman of ENSIEC, Professor Christian Ngwu, at the commission’s headquarters in Enugu.
The Saturday council election was contested by seven political parties across the State, as voters elected chairmen for the 17 Local government areas and councillors for the 260 wards.
Declaring the results, Professor Ngwu said the APC secured the highest number of votes in all 17 Local Government Areas.
The newly declared winners were presented with their certificates of return shortly after, formally confirming their emergence as the next set of local government leaders in Enugu State.
