More than One Thousand young loyalists of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have received plots of land from the state government in recognition of their loyalty and contributions to the party.
Governor Abba Yusuf says the decision to allocate land, rather than give cash, is aimed at providing beneficiaries with assets that can support sustainable development and improve their lives.
For many political party supporters, years of loyalty and commitment rarely translate into tangible recognition.
But for these young APC loyalists in Kano State, Governor Abba Yusuf says their contributions to the party have not gone unnoticed.
The Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, whose ministry oversees the allocation and documentation of the properties, explained the categories of beneficiaries covered in this phase of the exercise.
Governor Abba Yusuf, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, says the land allocation is an investment in housing development and the economic future of the beneficiaries.
The Governor charged the beneficiaries, numbering more than one thousand, to look beyond the allocation papers and see the land as an investment in their future and that of their families.
The latest allocation is part of the state government’s wider land distribution programme for different groups.
The government says the plots are located within approved layouts where critical social infrastructure is expected to be provided as development expands.
