Terrorists operating in the Faskari Forest Area of Katsina State on Thursday, launched a broad daylight attack on commuters along the Sheme – Yankara Road in Faskari Local Government Area of the state, abducting an unspecified number of persons.
Faskari is one of the 13 frontline Local Government Areas bedevilled by the activities of terrorists, who carry out kidnapping, cattle rustling, rape and other crimes.

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State had recently while receiving the former Lagos State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu on a condolence visit, hinted that 2 Local Government Areas of Kankara and Faskari are the worst hit, due to their proximity with Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger and Kebbi States forests.
