The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku says the bold step taken by President Bola Tinubu to remove fuel subsidy, saved the nation’s economy from eminent danger.
The NDDC boss who spoke to Journalists in Port Harcourt, said President Tinubu’s intervention provided more funds to the NDDC and State governments.
The removal of fuel subsidy is one of the major steps taken by President Tinubu on his inauguration as President of Nigeria in May 2023.
Three years down the line, the issue of fuel subsidy removal remains at the centre stage of public discuss, especially among the political class and actors. .
And the NDDC Managing Director, Samuel Ogbuku has kicked against recent calls for the reversal of the policy, stating that fuel subsidy provided more funds to the NDDC and the different tires of government.
Ogbuku therefore urged Nigerians to support the fuel subsidy removal policy, but to hold government accountable by asking questions on how such funds were utilized by development agencies and State governments.
He therefore assured that the NDDC will continue to support President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, by embarking on policies and programmes that will impact positively on the people of the Niger delta region.
