President of the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association, NAFOWA, Ngozi Aneke, has called for greater protection of the rights, dignity and welfare of older persons, saying their contributions to society must not be forgotten.
Aneke, who is also the wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, made the call during a visit to the Amazing Grace Foundation Home to commemorate the International Day of Older Persons.
She said older persons had devoted significant years of their lives to their families, communities and the development of the country, and deserve care, respect and support.
The Matron of the Amazing Grace Foundation Home also emphasised the need to care for older persons and ensure they are treated with dignity.
