Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal is to join a Federal Government delegation to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for a high-level Nigeria-Ethiopia Leadership Exchange and Learning Visit.
The delegation, approved by President Bola Tinubu, will be led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and includes Governors from Zamfara, Kwara, Abia, Cross River, Borno, Osun and Jigawa States.
The delegation is expected to depart on Tuesday for the three-day leadership exchange scheduled for October 7th to 9th, 2026.
According to a statement by Governor Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, the visit is part of Federal Government efforts to strengthen sub-national action on nutrition.
The programme will draw lessons from Ethiopia’s Seqota Declaration, a multi-sectoral initiative aimed at tackling child stunting through coordinated government action.
Nigeria is expected to examine Ethiopia’s experience in implementing and financing nutrition programmes at the state and local levels.
