Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has ordered immediate medical intervention and urgent measures to tackle the devastating impact of the oil spill along the Trans-Forcados pipeline.
The Governor who gave the order during an inspection visit to Odidi community in Warri South West local government area, says the State Government would not allow affected communities to suffer unnecessarily.

Governor Oborevwori sympathised with the locals over the devastating impact of the oil spill and directed that residents be medically examined because of possible health consequences of prolonged exposure to pollution.
Expressing his displeasure on how the pollution had severely affected the environment, the Governor demanded genuine dialogue between the oil company operating in the area and host communities.

Governor Oborevwori approved the construction of a modern healthcare centre and landing jetty for Odidi community.
