The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says a prosecution witness in the ongoing ₦110.4 billion alleged fraud trial involving former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has told an Abuja High Court that he handled foreign exchange transactions worth ₦1.425 billion within two months in 2022.
According to an EFCC press release, bureau de change operator Jamilu Abdullahi, who testified as the nineteenth prosecution witness, said the transactions were carried out on behalf of Abba Adaudu, to whom he delivered the purchased foreign currencies.
The witness also linked several transfers, including ₦100 million, ₦400 million and ₦600 million, to foreign exchange dealings.
He further testified that he facilitated school fee payments to the American International School, Abuja, for children whose payment details were provided by Adaudu.

However, during cross-examination, Abdullahi said he had no direct dealings with the defendants and could not recall the exact total amount he handed over to Adaudu.
Justice Maryanne Anineh adjourned the case to October 27 and November 24, 2026, for continuation of the trial.
Bello is being prosecuted alongside Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu on 16 counts involving alleged criminal breach of trust and money laundering totalling ₦110.4 billion.
