Taraba State University, Jalingo, may have raised the stakes for tertiary education in the North-East state as the institution holds its combined convocation ceremony for four sets of graduands.
The school also conferred Honorary Doctorate Degrees on the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and the Chairman of the North East Development Commission, Major-General Paul Tarfa (Rtd), among others.
Visitor to the University and Taraba
Governor, Darius Ishaku said, he is proud that he is actualising the vision of the founding fathers of the institution, and that in his time, the school is rated as one of the top 20 in the country.
He however cautioned against incessant strikes by workers, which could cripple the growth of the institution.
The Taraba State University was founded in 2005 as the first degree-awarding institution in the State and has since its inception, brought tertiary education closer to the people.
