President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated Section Three of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway, pledging to complete inherited road projects across Northern Nigeria.
Represented by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the President said the projects were critical to improving road safety, facilitating trade and supporting economic development.
The Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway project began under previous administrations but has faced delays.
The current administration reviewed some of the contracts and awarded them to new contractors, with work progressing in sections.
At the inauguration of Section Three, President Bola Tinubu said completing the road would improve connections between communities and ease the movement of passengers and goods.
Speaking on his behalf, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said other road projects were also underway across the North.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, outlined expenditure on the completed work and provided updates on other federal road projects.
The Federal Government says completing the remaining sections will strengthen transport links along the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano corridor and support economic activities in communities along the route.
