The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged Abuja residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying the FCT must avoid what he described as the political mistakes of 2023.
Wike spoke on Thursday at an interactive session organised by the Rainbow Coalition of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in Bwari Area Council.
He also endorsed Senator Philip Aduda and John Gbadaya under the coalition’s political arrangement.
The meeting brought together stakeholders and members of the Rainbow Coalition in Bwari Area Council as part of efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing participants, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike argued that Tinubu’s administration had improved the lives of Abuja residents.
He urged voters to support the President and cautioned against people he described as political gamblers.
Representatives of traditional institutions, women and youth groups at the meeting also expressed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The meeting also featured a recommendation for Julius Adamu to head the FCT Universal Basic Education Board.
Adamu had stepped down for APC candidate Joshua Ishaku during the last area council election.
