President Bola Tinubu says his administration is committed to completing inherited road projects across Northern Nigeria because of their strategic importance to the country’s economic development.
Represented by Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf at the commissioning of Section Three of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway, which covers the exit of Zaria to the border entry corridor of Kano state, the President said several other road projects are ongoing across the region to improve road safety, facilitate trade and boost economic activities.
The Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway project dates back to previous administrations but suffered delays in its execution.
The Tinubu administration inherited the project, reviewed some of the contracts and re-awarded them to new contractors, with construction now progressing in sections.

Speaking through the Kano State Governor at the commissioning ceremony, President Tinubu said the completed sections would improve connectivity, ease the movement of goods and passengers, and strengthen commercial activities across the region.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, outlined the financial implications of the completed sections, while highlighting other road infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Tinubu administration.
Governor Abba Yusuf, in his remarks, commended the President for his commitment to infrastructure development in the North and called on Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts.
As the Federal Government intensifies efforts to complete inherited infrastructure projects, expectations remain high that improved road connectivity will translate into safer journeys, stronger trade links and greater economic opportunities for communities along the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano corridor.
