In a bid to strengthen the national grid and improve electricity supply to households and businesses, the Federal Government has commissioned four new electricity transmission facilities in Kano State.

The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, says the projects form part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to boost electricity supply nationwide.

From its bustling markets to its industrial clusters, sustainable electricity supply remains a major challenge to businesses and creating jobs in Kano State.

For these reasons, the federal government has commissioned four additional transmission infrastructures at Kumbotso, Dakata, and Dan-Agundi transmission stations aimed at strengthening the network and improving the delivery of bulk electricity to consumers.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, says the investment is intended to support industrial and commercial activities by improving the capacity of the transmission network.

Commissioner for power in Kano State, who represented the governor, says the state is willing to partner the federal government in improving electricity in the state as he outlines the state government’s effort in this regard.

Beyond expanding transmission capacity, expectations are high that authorities will protect this electricity infrastructure from vandalism and curbing power theft as a critical way of ensuring that available supply reaches consumers efficiently.
