The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has described the scheduled flag-off of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign in Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria on Saturday as mere political callithumpian that cannot save the All Progressives Congress, APC from defeat by its party’s Presidential Candidate, Seyi Makinde.
In a statement by the Party’s Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa, the APM says
President Tinubu’s punishing policies and their life-discounting consequences on millions of citizens have become scarlet letters for which Nigerians have rejected the APC.
The APM says Nigerians do not expect anything from Tinubu’s Campaign flag-off beyond the usual empty promises and false performance claims by discredited and rejected APC leaders and fraudulent political gamblers.
The party says since President Tinubu decided to flag off his 2027 Presidential campaign in Kaduna, the political headquarters of the North, it is challenging the President to explain what the region has gained from his administration beyond economic hardship, broken promises and shattered public trust. It explains further that three and half years under President Tinubu’s watch, bandits and terrorists continue to abduct and displace citizens across the North-West, other parts of Nigeria.

The party adds that nothing exposes the government’s misplaced priorities more than reports that APC campaign billboards are now under protection by security agencies while vulnerable communities remain at the mercy of bandits. Under Tinubu, political advertisements appear better protected than human lives.
The APM adds that besides, the marginalisation of the North in appointments to strategic sectors of the economy, the federal government reinforces the perception that President Tinubu regards the region as nothing more than a convenient reservoir of electoral votes, courted at election time and sidelined thereafter.
