The African Action Congress, AAC, has condemned the reported remand of its Abia State governorship candidate, Doris Ogala, over alleged cyberbullying involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
In a statement, the party described the development as an attack on democratic participation and freedom of expression, renewing its call for the repeal of the Cybercrime Act.
The AAC also raised concerns about possible political interference, urging an impartial investigation, respect for Ogala’s fundamental rights, and strict adherence to due process.
The party vowed to resist any alleged misuse of state institutions against its members through lawful and democratic means.
