As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 General elections, the need to actively engage more women to determine the political future in the country came to the fore during a Townhall meeting with Traditional and Religious leaders in Lagos.

With its theme, ‘From Silence to Safeguard; Faith,Tradition, and women’s place in Nigeria’s Democracy the participants reflected on the cultural ,religious and systemic barriers that limit women’s representation in governance among other issues.

Inside the hall for this strategic dialogue in Lagos under the Brain Builders Youth Initiative are stakeholders including religious and traditional leaders as well as leaders of thought amongst others.

Their focus centered on addressing cultural, religious and systemic barriers that limit women’s representation in governance, leverage community gatekeepers to support female candidates and foster a more inclusive Democratic space ahead of the 2027 polls.

The dialogue also sort to challenge gender disinformation, addressing online gender based violence, and creating safer spaces for women political participation.

With its theme,”From Silence to Safeguard ; Faith Tradition and women’s place in Nigeria’s Democracy ,it is the take home from here that strengthening Digital intergrity and
Inclusive participation for 2027 General Election is key as women constitute the majority voters at any election
