Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri says whoever succeeds him as governor must be chosen by God, declaring his readiness to work with whoever God ordains for the state.
Governor Diri made this known at the fifteenth Bayelsa Annual Thanksgiving Service held at the State Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, on Monday
The atmosphere was one of gratitude and celebration as thousands of Bayelsans and visitors gathered to thank God for another year and reflect on the state’s journey.
Speaking on the theme, “Called to Be Good Christians and Good Citizens,” the guest preacher, Very Reverend Father Joseph Opelema, urged residents to uphold Christian values and demonstrate good citizenship in their daily lives.
The Bayelsa Annual Thanksgiving Day, observed every November 2, was established by a law of the State House of Assembly in 2012 and is recognised as a public holiday across the state.
